OH March 13, 2006. Ecology Coatings Inc., a
leading provider of ultra-violet (UV) curable industrial
nano-engineered coatings technologies, today announced
plans to relocate from its Akron, Ohio headquarters
into a larger facility. Expecting to add staff and
expand output capabilities in the next year, the
company is scouting a new site for its growing operations.
With more than 200 clean, efficient coating products,
Ecology Coatings currently serves the automotive,
electronics, medical device and industrial manufacturing
markets.
³In addition to the licenses we have already
secured in automotive and metals markets, we¹re
currently working with more than 80 major companies
that are testing our nanocoatings for electronics,
plastics, paper, and other applications. Ecology
Coatings needs to grow in order to meet demand for
our products, and we¹re pursuing various site
options to help us meet those ends,² said Rich
Stromback, CEO of Ecology Coatings. ³We are
looking to relocate to a site that offers strong
regional support for new materials and the synergy
of a vibrant local technology community.²
The company¹s current Akron headquarters includes
a laboratory facility for research and development
as well as capabilities for manufacturing commercial
quantities of its high-performance coatings. The
company expects to relocate in early 2007.
Unlike conventional industrial coatings, Ecology
Coatings¹ proprietary nano-engineered products
contain no water, toxic solvents or other liquid
components that need to evaporate for the coating
to set. Instead the coatings require only a few seconds
of UV light exposure to form a durable barrier, a
characteristic that drives time, energy and EPA reporting
efficiencies for the manufacturer and enables entirely
new coatings applications.
