MONTREAL,
April 18, 2006 – Raymor
Industries Inc. (TSX-V: RAR) , a leading developer
and producer of single-walled carbon nanotubes, nanomaterials
and advanced materials, is proud to announce that
Raymor Industries has been named as one of the leading
public nanotech companies in the world in this year's
issue of FORTUNE 500 magazine, currently on newsstands.
The International Association of Nanotechnology (IANano)
in California and FORTUNE Magazine have published
the Nanotech 100, a list of the 100 leading publicly-traded
companies from around the world. Raymor has been
selected to this list, which also features large
multinational corporations, such as BASF, DuPont
and Intel.
“Raymor Industries Inc. was selected
to the Nanotech 100, the list of 100 leading public
companies that are proven to be innovative and outstanding
in developing, producing and marketing advanced nanotechnology
products and services around the world,” said Lloyd
L. Tran, President of the International Association
of Nanotechnology (IANano). “The Nanotech 100
was selected amongst several hundred corporations
that are involved in the emerging nanotechnology
industry,” added Mr. Tran.
The Nanotech 100, a list of the
leading public nanotech companies in the world, was
prepared by the International
Association of Nanotechnology (IANano ) a California-based
non-profit organization with the goal of fostering
scientific research and business development in the
areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology for the benefits
of society . The selection of each company, including
Raymor Industries was based on five criteria: (1)
current involvement in R&D, manufacturing and
marketing of nanotechnology products and services;
(2) intellectual property position in nanotechnology;
(3) advanced engineering processes in nanotechnology
and nanoscale manufacturing and production; (4) impact
in the marketplace; (5) sales and revenue derived
from nanotechnology products and services.
“The world is beginning to recognize
how Raymor Industries, with our patented single-walled
carbon nanotubes production process, will provide
a technology platform for the use of nanotechnology
in our every day lives,” said Mr. Stéphane
Robert, President of Raymor Industries. “The presence
of affordable, readily available single-walled carbon
nanotubes in the marketplace will spark the production
of commercial products in virtually all sectors,
including aerospace, defense, energy, electronics,
automotive, medical, sports, as well as numerous
consumer goods,” added Mr. Robert.
