HONG
KONG, PRNewswire/ -- NanoMuscle, the growth leader
in the next generation motor industry, has opened
its product design center in Shenzhen's Special Economic
Zone in Southern China. The new facility follows the
opening of NanoMuscle's regional headquarters in Hong
Kong earlier this year and will continue to build
on collaborative relationships with toy and automotive
customers that have operations in the Pearl River
Delta and elsewhere in China.
Located
in Futian, Shenzhen, the new center will employ approximately
100 local employees with some US-based executives
relocating. The new center will be an important part
of NanoMuscle's global research and development efforts.
"Southern China has the largest concentration
of toy manufacturers in the world and in turn a rich
population of highly skilled engineers and developers,"
said Rod MacGregor, CEO and co-founder of NanoMuscle.
"Our new facilities are aimed at ensuring customers
can realize the full benefits of deploying silent,
low cost NanoMuscle motors in their products -- from
the initial design stage through high volume production."
Unlike the old, traditional electromagnetic motors,
NanoMuscles use smart materials to create movement.
These materials allow NanoMuscle motors to have completely
silent motion at a lower cost and lighter weight than
electromagnetic motors. For the toy industry, NanoMuscle
motors give designers a new way to develop lifelike
toys with silent motion at a competitive cost. For
the automotive industry, the NanoMuscle motors are
lighter and lower cost than traditional motors that
in turn give the car better performance and more efficient
fuel consumption.
"The miniature motor market is seeing a fundamental
shift away from conventional motors towards new, innovative
products that allow companies to offer improved products
without increasing prices," said MacGregor. "NanoMuscle
is the only next generation motor company with the
global footprint required to service the needs of
leading multinational companies in the toy and automotive
markets."
