| Dublin,
Ireland, August 11, 2004. NTERA Ltd., the market-leading
developer of NanoChromicsTM displays (NCDTM) using state-of-the-art
patented nanostructured materials, has announced an
agreement with a Swedish consortium - The Nanodynamics
Group - to acquire two families of patent applications
in the field of electrochromic applications.
The
Swedish consortium comprises IVF Industrial Research
and Development Corporation (IVF) and researchers
at the University of Uppsala and at IVF. Collectively,
the consortium was launched as the Nanodynamics Group
to commercialise some key technologies developed in
the field of electrochromic display applications.
NTERA Limited, an Irish display company utilising
the latest in nanostructured materials has developed
its own leading edge electrochromic technology and
has agreed to acquire the patent applications for
use in its NanoChromics Display products - NCD.
The
patent applications acquired are as follows:
Title:
Method for manufacturing sealed monolithic electrochemical
systems and sealed monolithic electrochemical system
The
acquired patents relating to this invention are two
recently filed divisional patent applications EP 04075989.6
and US 10/814,263, which are derived from the published
patent application WO 01/97237. The technology acquired
by NTERA which is the basis of the patents, is a novel
sealed monolithic electrochromic system and a method
for manufacturing such systems, which NTERA will apply
to its electrochromic display technology.
Title:
Electrochromic device based on nanocrystalline materials
The
acquired patent is PCT/SE01/01696, which is published
under the patent application WO 02/12954. The technology
acquired by NTERA which is the basis of this patent,
is a novel capacitative electrode for application
in electrochromic devices and which NTERA will apply
to its electrochromic display technology.
