LONDON,
June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- iCurie Lab Holdings, Ltd.
today announced a manufacturing partnership agreement
with Taiwan-based AVC (Asia Vital Components Co.,
Ltd.) the world's largest supplier of CPU (Computer
Processing Units) cooling systems.
Pursuant
to the confidential terms of the agreement, AVC, which
has an equity stake in iCurie, will develop and install
the production lines to manufacture iCurie's patented
iCurie Cooled(TM) nano-technology cooling system on
exclusive manufacturing rights for Taiwanese and Chinese
markets and non-exclusive rights for other markets
in coming months. The manufacturing lines will significantly
expand iCurie's distribution capabilities, and enhance
its ability to deliver its revolutionary cooling system
into real market in a timely manner.
Last month, iCurie Lab Holdings, Ltd. announced that
its patented iCurie Cooled(TM) nano-technology cooling
system, had passed performance testing and
received certification from LG Electronics, Inc. (KOREA:066570),
one of the top five manufacturers in the world of
OEM PCs. iCurie's Chief Executive, Dr. Jeong Hyun
Lee, Ph.D., former NASA and Samsung Engineer said,
"We are delighted that a world leader such as
AVC has recognized the potential of our patented iCurie
Cooled(TM) nano-technology system. The support of
AVC to meet the demand of the trillion dollar PC
market,
and the recent certification from LG Electronics,
Inc., lend credence to iCurie's patented self circulating
cooling module's ability to replace bulky, noisy and
battery draining cooling systems in today's computers
with thinner, smaller, quieter and less power consuming
coolers."
Dr. J.C Lin, CTO of AVC noted, "We are confident
in iCurie's technology to capitalize on the opportunity
to market its cooling product which achieves high
cooling efficiency such that it is suitable not only
as a cooling module for mobile computers like the
tablet and next generation note PCs, PDAs and smart
phones but also in Desktop PCs. It has a powerful
competitive edge as the next generation cooling system."
The patented iCurie technology provides the basis
for a quantum leap forward in one of the greatest
barriers to ever-increasing computer processing speeds
- heat. The iCurie solution is unique in that its
microchannels act like pumps and its micro thin structures
dissipate heat to the environment more efficiently,
up to 400% greater than current methods. Due to its
high heat dissipation, the iCurie technology could
eliminate noisy fans in some PCs
and laptops altogether. The firm has garnered global
interest in its light-weight, power sipping refrigeration
system as a growing number of notable technology companies,
universities and government agencies have focused
on the impending heat barrier in electronics.
Hansen Gray & Company, Inc., is the lead venture
capital firm backing iCurie. Mark E. Gray, CEO of
Hansen Gray commented, "The strategic relationship
with AVC will allow iCurie to scale up to meet the
growing demand for its innovative product with greater
quality control. This is truly an exciting time for
iCurie."
