in sensor technology
Organic photonic sensors represent a breakthrough
in the commercialization of nanotechnology-based
semiconductors. “This market promises incredibly dynamic
growth, reminiscent of the arrival of silicon semiconductors 40 years ago” says
NANOIDENT's CEO Klaus G. Schroeter. And NANOIDENT is leading the way, with
the world's first nanotechnology-based organic sensor solutions for high-volume
applications such as flexible fingerprint sensors for smart cards and large
biochip sensors.
Benefits of NANOIDENT organic photonic sensors
NANOIDENT organic photonic sensors consist of flexible PET foil with ultra-thin
layers of micro-structured electrodes and photoactive semiconductors. “Organic
semiconductors can be processed in liquid form like printing ink. The use of
innovative printing processes drastically reduces production time and costs” says
NANOIDENT CTO Franz Padinger.
At the forefront of the technology
Creating the first high-resolution organic photonic sensor highlights the
position of NANO-IDENT at the forefront of nanotechnological development. “Getting here
took years of scientific and industrial experience in fields as diverse as organic
photo physics, coating technologies, micro-structuring, organic semiconductor
printing technology and sensor design” says Padinger. NANOIDENT is partnering
with world-leading companies and research centers in the area of organic semiconductor
technology, to participate in the latest developments at the cutting edge of
nanomaterial research.
