HEIGHTS, NJ and CARSON CITY, NV -- (MARKET WIRE) --
06/28/2004 -- Vitusa Products, Inc. and US Global Nanospace,
Inc. (OTC BB: USGA) today announced that Vitusa has
acquired distribution rights for US Global Nanospace's
NanoFilterCX Cigarette Filter Material. Vitusa is a
leading supplier of additives to the filter and tobacco
filter manufacturing industries and provides marketing
and distribution for many major domestic and international
producers through its offices and warehouses in New
Jersey, Illinois and California. Vitusa is ISO 9002
certified and is the number one provider of Glycerine
and the number two provider of Triacetin to the tobacco
industry. Vitusa's customers include all the major tobacco
manufacturers.
David
Grande, president of Vitusa Products, Inc., said,
"We have been working intimately with the tobacco
industry over the past 24 years and over the past
three years have worked with our customers to develop
and integrate materials designed to reduce smoking
risk and toxin transmission. The Institute of Medicine
recently reported that 'for many diseases attributable
to tobacco use, reducing risk of disease by reducing
exposure to tobacco toxicants is feasible.'
"With
initial testing of NanoFilterCX material by our customers
indicating the potential for significant toxin reduction
we see great promise and look forward to working with
USGN and our customers to help drive reductions in
smoking risk for the over 40 million smokers in the
United States and 1.5 billion smokers worldwide for
whom abstinence is not a solution. We see NanoFilterCX
as a vital offering to manufacturers seeking to integrate
new technologies to reduce smoke toxins while maintaining
consumer acceptance."
NanofilterCX
offers the only high-efficiency mechanical filtration
means available today. It features pricing competitive
with current common cigarette filters and seamless
integration into the existing manufacturing process.
All other recent filter products in the category of
Less Harmful Cigarettes (LHCs) or Reduced-Risk Cigarettes
are chemical-based and therefore require lengthy government
approvals to evaluate any residual ingestion effects
of the chemical additives.
John
Robinson, Chairman and CEO of US Global Nanospace,
Inc., commented, "This agreement is an important
next step in addressing ongoing industry interest
in NanoFilterCX. In Vitusa we have found the ideal
partner for maximizing the potential of NanoFilterCX.
Vitusa has the relationships and the distribution
infrastructure required to expedite adoption of this
innovation by manufacturers."
