DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 2004--Accelrys Inc.
(NASDAQ:ACCL) today announced the release of the Accord(TM)
Enterprise (AE) Webkit(TM), its latest software solution
for chemical and biological information management.
The AE Webkit enables users to build and customize
their own cheminformatics applications using commercial
quality, validated components to create Web browser-based
user interfaces to deploy such applications. In addition
to the lower cost of deployment, browser-based applications
are flexible, easily tailored to specific groups of
users and simple to learn and use. This is the first
in a series of Webkit releases.
AE Webkit makes full use of the power of the Accord
Enterprise Informatics (AEI) system to store, search
and retrieve chemical structures, and structure-related
and biological data, along with tools and components
that perform essential tasks in chemical analysis
or programming. AEI empowers multi-disciplinary scientific
functions in pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.
"The Accord Enterprise Webkit delivers an innovative
collection of tools that enable researchers and informaticians
to flexibly tailor their access to chemical information
within their enterprise environment," said Dr.
Scott Kahn, chief science officer, Accelrys. "Improved
access to project data through customized Web-based
applications will enable better use of investments
in new science."
